Barbecue seasoning online sales jump as stay at home orders continue

PHILADELPHIA, PA – As millions of Americans are forced to stay home, online sales are starting to indicate that many may have turned to barbecue as one of their choices for food preparation.

Starting in March, online sales for the popular barbecue spice rub and seasoning called WannaRub saw a major increase. WannaRub, which officially launched just under a year ago has already sold more than 12,000 bottles of their signature spice blend. As those stay-at-home orders started to be put in place, their website saw a major uptick.

“I don’t think it’s a coincidence,” said Eric Strohl, RubMaster and Founder of WannaRub. “With all of our upcoming events being canceled, and our partner retail locations being harder to get to, people have turned to ordering their favorite blend online.”

In the last 30 days, online orders have increased by 32 percent along with a 50% bump in average order size. As a result, the company has decided to run a special promotion for all of those who are currently on what seems like house arrest.

“To help people get through these difficult times, we’re offering a discount on our Two and Five-Pack Combo’s in addition to offering free priority two-day shipping on orders over $28” said Strohl. “And, they can be rest assured that our product is made entirely here in the USA.”

According to the company’s website, WannaRub, The Perfect Condiment For All Your Food, can be used as a dry rub for beef, chicken, pork and fish, or also as a seasoning on pasta, potatoes, veggies, or any side dish. WannaRub contains no additives, preservatives, MSG, GMO’s and is gluten-free. The proprietary blend features cane sugar, smoked Spanish paprika, pink Himalayan salt, fresh ground pepper, granulated garlic, granulated onion, dried chiles, and other herbs and spices.
